On behalf of the Strathalbyn Show, I wish to welcome everyone to our 150th Show, which we can finally hold after our Show being cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to covid. We wish to welcome several new faces to our committee, who have been working very hard behind the scenes. I would especially like to acknowledge our new Secretary, Jennie-Marie Huckstepp and our new Treasurer, Kay Dobrilla for having done a mammoth amount of work to date. Thank you to members of our committee who have retired, and to all those dedicated to be involved in the 150th Show. What a very exciting year for us to have partnered with the Southern Argus who is our “Major Sponsor”. For this year’s Show we plan to look back into the past, remembering those earlier shows. Please check out our History display in the Show Hall. There are some old-style cookery classes including a Dolly Vardon Cake and Tennis cake. This year there will be Wood Chopping, Black Smith Demonstrations, Cheese Making and a lot of other special events to mark our 150th as a special event. Of course we still have all our regular events.
A Big Thank You must go to our hard-working Committee, all Volunteers, Sponsors, Exhibitors and supporters for their contributions to make our show such a huge success. It’s great to be back,
Rex Liebelt, President, Strathalbyn Agricultural Society
Our traditions stretch back over 150 years. Our dedicated committee spend their spare time volunteering to grow the show and to keep its traditions in the Strathalbyn community, alive.
